Examination Overview
In accordance with the pharmacy council’s drive to ensure delivery of safe Pharmaceutical services to the population, the Council is registering all practitioners of the pharmacy workforce.
In furtherance of this, the Council has now extended its certification examination to Pharmacy Technicians.
The Ghana Pharmacy Technician Certifying Examination (GPTCE) is part of the requirements for registration as a Pharmacy Technician in Ghana in accordance with the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act, 2013 ACT 857 section 82(1). (2) and (3).
The date for the GPTQE will be communicated to you in due course.
Eligibility
For a candidate to be eligible to write the GPTQE
- He/ She must hold a Higher National Diploma (HND ) in Dispensing Technology from an accredited institution.
- The candidate should have undergone mandatory 12-month experiential training (National Service) in an accredited hospital or institution by the Pharmacy council.
Attachments
- A certified true copy of the school certificate.
- National Service certificate.
- Evidence of payment of fees.
- Photo ID (Passport, Ghana Card, Driver’s License, Voters ID)
Requirements
The candidate should
- Apply in the prescribed manner
- Paid the prescribed fee of GHC200.00 at ADB Bank.

To register for the GPTQE,

- Fill the application form and print
- Pay the prescribed fee at ADB (Check details)
- Submit completed form and bank payment slip to any Pharmacy Council Regional Office.
