License Renewal
Licenses issued to pharmacies are valid for one calendar year only and must be renewed every year in accordance with the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act. Failure to renew a pharmacy license or operating with a license past its expiry date constitutes an offense and will result in sanctions.

Requesting for an Introductory Letter
- Write a formal letter addressed to the Registrar of the Council requesting a Letter of good standing or Introductory Letter.
- State your name (or pharmacy name if you are requesting for a pharmacy), registration number/license number, and the purpose of the request (e.g. part of requirements for practicing in a foreign country or part of requirements for opening a corporate bank account).
- State the name and address of the receiving institution if you want it posted directly to them. The Council accepts no liability for mistakes made in the address. If you would prefer to collect it yourself, please state so in your letter. If you want to have the letter addressed “TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN”, please state so explicitly in the letter.
- Submit the letter to the nearest Regional Office. If you are in Accra you may present it directly to the Registrar’s Secretary.
- After submission, you will be asked to make payment. The amount to be paid will be determined by the office based on the nature of your request (e.g. whether it is being posted outside of the country or not).
Note: Please note that it typically takes 3-5 working days from when it is received at the Registrar’s office for a request to be processed
