For Ghana-trained graduates:

To qualify to practice as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician in Ghana, specific qualifications from accredited institutions are required.

Qualifications obtained in unaccredited institutions are not acceptable, even if the qualifications themselves are accepted.

For Foreign-trained graduates and Foreign Practicing Pharmacists

To qualify to practice as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician in Ghana, you must have one of the qualifications listed below. In addition, the qualification must meet the minimum requirements for registration as a Pharmacist in your country/jurisdiction of origin.

Again, qualifications must be obtained from institutions accredited by the Pharmacy licensing authority in your country/jurisdiction.

Pharmacy Training

The accepted qualifications for the practice of Pharmacy in Ghana are

  1. Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm)
  2. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D.)

The qualification accepted to qualify as a Pharmacy Technology in Ghana is  Higher National Diploma (HND) in Dispensing Technology
